This 18th-century landscape garden features a tranquil lake, walking trails, and a variety of plant species. The garden's design is attributed to Lancelot "Capability" Brown, a renowned English landscape architect. Visitors can explore the grounds, which include a woodland walk, a rock garden, and a sensory garden, as well as a Gothic-style folly and a picturesque cottage. The property also includes a 19th-century farmhouse, outbuildings, and a working farm.
Love this walk and so do my dogs. Always meet very friendly people with their dogs. Could do with some CCTV to catch the idiots who park up, eat junk food and then dump their rubbish all over the car park.
Quarts Moor is a good location to start a local walk as the small car park is free (beware visibility when exiting). Woodlands in an elevated position in the Blackdown Hills AONB owned by the National Trust with panoramic view of the Tone valley. I usually walk here from Wellington, then along the road to Wellington Monument and linking up with public footpaths to make a circular walk. No facilities here and some camper vans sometimes park overnight.
Good parking. Not much of a walk (2 miles). Stunning views.
Perfect for a shaded walk on a hot day with the dogs. Pretty much all under tree cover so nice and cool for the dogs. Not overly big, but easy to get an hour's walk in.
Lovely little wood with plenty of things to explore
A great quiet place to walk the dogs, to roam free, along the top of the Blackdown Hills, wonderful little place.... To the left picking up the leaves and some longer walks to the right taking in a few tracks
Hiking
Good for kids
Kid-friendly hikes
Dogs allowed
