Expansive country park with woodlands, cycling and horse riding trails, visitor centre and cafe.
Great place for walks, picnic and mountain biking, great views and plenty of parking with a nice cafe.
Beautiful outdoor space, we'd probably need to visit another 10 times to see it all. We got a little confused by the routes so I'd recommend taking a photo of the board when you see one. Plenty of space for off-lead dog-walking.
Many spaces for walking , picnic or kids playing outdoors activities. There is plenty of parking spaces, great for gatherings with friends and family. There are toilets.
Took my grandson (9) for a days mountain biking, we had our own bikes. Easy to park, plenty of car parks and spaces available. We took a guess as to where the blue route was but we failed as ended up in the wrong spot. My advice is to cycle down to the cafe where you can pick up the red or blue route signage and follow them. We eventually picked up the route and rode the blue route twice. Great fun, quick, plenty of jumps and berms to negotiate. My grandson loved it. It was relatively quiet as well. The cafe was good, very polite staff and the food choices were good. My grandson said the hot chocolate was amazing. It also has a visitors centre full of info. It cost us PS9.50 to park all day which I thought was good value. There is also e-bike hire and tuition if you want it. All in all a great day out.
I hadn't been to Queen Elizabeth Country Park in at least 7 years prior to my recent visit. It's a very large and beautiful country park and is clearly well used by everyone. I met numerous dog walkers, Duke of Edinburgh participants and mountain bikers whilst on my walk. The wildlife is phenomenal- I stumbled upon the largest patch of birds nest orchids I've ever found in my entire life! As well as seeing deer, mushrooms, insects, wild garlic and so much more. It is a little pricey on the parking cost side imo, but equally, looking after the country park costs money and you can't expect to have nice toilets/cafe/information boards/paths/cycle routes etc etc without the money to pay for it all, so considering I'm averaging a visit once every 7 years at the moment, I don't think I'm going to stress about paying PS8 for the 3ish hours I was there for!
Great place, something for everyone, peaceful or busy, ancient woods or Butser Hill, such a wealth of things to do....
