Superb destination for wheelchair walks (caveat ~ I was being wheeled by my husband and he is quite strong, there are a few tricky cambers and a few roots, but I have an all terrain wheelchair that handled it fine.) Beautiful woods and a gorgeous view from the viewpoint. The cafe was great with wheelchair openings at various outdoor bench seats. Mushroom soup was delicious and they had gluten free bread. Really lovely gift and book shop with knowledgeable attendant who was really helpful in telling us which paths to go on for the best experience. Most paths nice and wide, only a few that were not wheelchair friendly and they were easy to circumvent.
Gorgeous and well looked after place. Cafe staff and shop staff all welcoming and friendly. You get your parking for free if you spend over PS20 in the shop or cafe, which is a really nice touch. Walks were easy and really well shaded by all the beautiful trees! Perfect on a day like today when the sun is beating down. I loved the Autumn Garden, which had some really pretty Japanese Maple, and the redwoods. Seemed like there was quite a few fun things for the kids to get up to as well, we saw lots of happy families and lots of happy dogs...almost all of them on leads! We stopped by Bodenham Lakes as well, only a five minute drive away and also run by the Wildlife Trust. Well worth a visit if you are a birder as we saw a bit without trying including great crested grebe, great white egret, lapwings, grey heron, cormorants, buzzard, and house martins. There is a seperate car park charge for this which works the same as the one at Queenswood.
Nice walks, very accessible to all Gruffalo walk for younger visitors. Many of the trees are labelled with the type of tree, and when planted. What is the oldest you can see. An oak planted pre 1900 was mine
Magical woodland with visible conservation efforts and many beautiful walking routes of varying distances from the car park. Great shop with work by local artists. Pay for car park near the shop entrance.
Great place to walk the dog or yourself. Nice ice cream, cafe and shop on site. Car parking is pay only.
