Just a quick visit today for a few hours. There is so much to see and do. Activities for people of all ages and interests. Plenty of specialist honey for sale and we couldn't resist the heather honeycomb. The cafe was a real treat. Will be back again soon for sure!
Wonderful visit and would recommended absolutely. Did the tour to start, tasted honey and made a candle. Everyone so friendly and very knowledgeable. Had a fantastic lunch, Great quality food, really quick and lovely surroundings. Did the bee experience in the afternoon which was great getting hands on with the bees and learnt so much. Love the shop and bought loads of great goodies. Thanks for a fab visit and will come back next time we visit Devon.
My fiance and I went to the honey farm for my birthday along with our miniature schnauzer. We tried to book the beekeeper experience online and it looked booked so we called to see if there was space and the manager, Karen could not have been any more welcoming or helpful. She moved a few things around and even looked after our dog in her office during the experience which was one of the most amazing things (they're VERY dog friendly)! Sam took us to a beehive on site and talked us through the whole process including letting us get up close and personal and answering our barrage of questions. It was an experience I'll always remember and gave me so much more to want to discover! All of the activities and events that the staff host throughout the day are well worth the time and it doesn't feel chaotic or crammed despite the fountains of knowledge they provide you with. As someone who is passionate about bees and nature, I cannot recommend this place any more highly. The staff go out of their way, the food in the cafe is delicious and the activities are informative and fun for all ages. Don't miss out on what could be the best day of your holiday!
Due to time constraints we never had time to do the whole tour, but the shop exceeded expectations. So many different types of honey and lots of pretty homewares and bee themed items. Was even better that they offer samples of the honeys for you to try before you buy I can thoroughly recommend.
Outstanding place for a visit. Not too expensive, the gardens are the rivals of the RHS, the talks were interesting and accessible for my young children as well as me and the grounds are well laid out to leave everything accessible for all ages. Food in the main cafe is pricey but not overpriced - the quality is well worth the extra you pay. Special mention to the two women who ran the activity sessions (we attended the beekeeping demonstration, curious creatures, honey tasting and candle rolling. They were enthusiastic and engaging and really made the day for us all.
Such a fantastic place and so informative the staff are all kind and willing to help. The candle making was a really fun activity to do. You got a tasting of the honey and you got a full talk from a bee keeper and all about the bees. The cafe was really nice as well and huge portions.
