Opened on 18 May 2021, RHS Garden Bridgewater is the fifth RHS garden and one of the largest and most spectacular gardening projects undertaken in Europe in recent years. The transformation of this 154-acre green space will enrich the lives of local communities and their environment for the future. There is so much to see - the Weston Walled Garden contains multiple garden rooms, setting the tone for a journey of exploration with colourful themed borders, complementary sub-gardens and characterful listed buildings. The wider woodland, meadows and lakes further your enjoyment. Woodland Play will delight children, while a stroll through Worsley Welcome Garden and the emerging Chinese Streamside Garden offer time for relaxation and thought.
What a fantastic garden Bridgewater is. Huge and immaculate, which is really remarkable in such a short space of time. Visiting on potentially the busiest day (August bank holiday Monday), we still found spaces in the car park, and the garden itself never felt crowded. There is also a large modern cafe and a well-stocked garden centre, with lots of unusual and RHS branded gifts. The staff were friendly and welcoming, so really nothing to fault. Visitors with limited mobility will find most paths around the primary garden areas are flat, and there are lots of places to sit down, which is good to see. There are also many places to have a picnic, including alongside the children's play area, which is located just into the surrounding woodland.
Absolutely gorgeous gardens, we didn't get chance to see all of it before it started raining but we'll definitely be making a return visit on a sunny day. The cafe was too busy to eat so we didn't stop for lunch. The gift shop/ garden centre was a bit pricey but seemed to have some lovely items.
I love the gardens, the flowers, the careful thought behind every aspect of this space. I can wait to see the seasonal changes and growth of maturity. We took our own food and bought coffee there. I can't understand the lengths of the queues -we had a coffee twice and both times the length of queues was really silly and far too long. The price for one cup of any type of coffee PS3.50 should pay for more staff to be employed. It's expensive in the catering areas. We'll just have a cup of water next time - it's free and it's where you collect the coffee once you've paid. I removed a star purely because of this aspect. The garden centre is wonderful with lots of ideas to use. The plants are fairly priced.
One of my favourite places to go and rewind. It has everything you ask for. A great cafe (I dint fancy their breakfast menu though!), beautiful nature, gardens, wood, lake. Fantastic for walking. You can easily send a few hours there. A nice little lay ground for kids. My son loves it too Ample free car park. Easy access off motorways.
Absolutely STUNNING gardens so big so much to see and a fabulous modern cafe with great food. The beauty of nature surrounds you and the on going work shows you how this place is going to just get more and more AWESOME as time goes on. Will be a regular visitor from now on. It has Worsley Hall too that gives you tea and cake in their outdoor area. Cannot praise this place enough it's fabulous and you can take your own picnics and have a family day too.
Great day out if you're a garden lover. Good variety of gardens to look at and woods to explore. The cafe is very nice, serving good food and drinks. Toilet facilities are excellent with options inside and outside of the main garden shop / cafe. There are very good disabled toilets complete with hoist, adult size changing bed etc. Some really good play / adventure areas for younger kids. All of the paths around the gardens are wheelchair friendly so there are very few areas that are not accessible. Highly recommended.
