Sitting in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, RHS Garden Harlow Carr offers a variety of growing landscapes, from running and still water, to woodland and wildflower meadows. Highlights include the lavish Main Borders, bursting with generous prairie-style planting, and the lush, moisture-loving plants around Streamside.
A beautiful afternoon spent wandering around this beautifully kept garden! So much to see and plenty of seats to stop and gaze!! The flowers are blooming so magnificently!! We have just joined as members, so can't wait to come back and explore the garden through each changing season!!
Lovely gardens enjoyed a lovely few hours strolling through them. Discounted entry if you walk there which we did, two miles from the other side of Harrogate. Lovely walk to get there through Valley Gardens and Pineside Woods.
Such a lovely place for a walk out. The whole area is really well thought out and easy to navigate around although if you need a map there's plenty available. There are even a couple of play parks for kids with climbing apparatus and swings. Definitely with the admission charge if you like flowers and a day out.
Large gardens with beautiful flowers and planting, the lawns are maintained and there is a map to guide you round the gardens with various different features and points of interest. The terraces are in full bloom with an array of colours that look fabulous. There is a great gift shop sellling all kinds of homeware, gifts, food and drink. We visited the new cafe the Harrogate arms for coffee with plenty outdoors seating although feel the terrace from Betty's tearooms has a slight better view over the gardens. Overall a fab day out in the gardens with good weather.
We had a lovely time at these gardens. Staff were unfailingly polite and we were given a warm welcome on arrival, along with a well designed map and recommended suggestions, which included a temporary Japanese shop. The standard of gardening as you'd expect was tremendous as the photographs show. We enjoyed a pleasant picnic in the grounds and spent a good 4 hours navigating the grounds of which there are approximately 56 acres. Another pleasant surprise was how tame the birds are here. A robin came right up to me on 2 occasions!
Extensive gardens to explore although for non members be aware that the entry price isn't cheap at circa PS17 per person (adults). There is a large and very busy tearoom on site called Betty's which gets busy even at times in the morning. Easy parking on site and easy access all round. On a sunny day it's well worth a visit .
