RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, UK, is a tourist attraction and one of five gardens run by the Royal Horticultural Society; the others being Harlow Carr, Hyde Hall, Rosemoor, and Bridgewater. Wisley is a large and spectacular garden covering over 240 acres. The site contains many formal and informal gardens, several glasshouses, orchards and arboretums. In addition, there are a number of small-scale "model gardens" which are intended to show visitors what they can achieve in their own gardens, and a trials field where new cultivars are assessed. Enjoy free access to the on-site cafe, restaurant and large garden centre featuring both indoor and outdoor plants and gardening products.
Recently, we visited this wonderful RHS Garden at Wisley. It is a great place for a day tour with friends and family. We went there by car without any problem and parking is free for visitors. At the very right of the Plant Centre, you will find Garden Centre and at the left you will find a cafe and shop. The Garden Entrance is between the Toilets and Cafe (very left of the Plant Centre). As we reached there a little bit late 12.30 pm, we could not cover all the areas, so we decided to come again. I would recommend everyone to come early with picnic (because food and drink are very expensive) to cover all the gardens. You will also need a willingness to walk for miles. There are lots of restrooms and cafes, so you can have plenty of opportunities to refresh yourself. After visiting the glasshouse (greenhouse), we visited the playground near the glasshouse and the rock garden. We also liked the Viewing Mount and the surroundings from the top of the mount. I found the water Lily in the pond, which is very exciting and beautiful. We then moved to the Clear Lake through the exotic garden, cottage garden, and horse statue. We really enjoyed the day out and recommended everyone to visit it.
Wisley gardens are beautiful. There's lots of different paths to follow and a good portion of it is wheelchair friendly. We are usually there about 6hours and there's plenty of places to eat and has a play area for children. There are plenty of benches dotted around when you need a rest and also plenty of grass areas to have your picnic if you bring your own food. Plenty of toilet facilities too. A great day out.
Amazing gardens. Far too much to see in a day. Loads of places to eat (Can be pricey). Something to see at every step. Do the glasshouse early as it shuts at 3pm. Keep some money for the garden centre which is also amazing
An absolutely wonderful experience even in the heat! Beautifully maintained and oh the plants were so diverse and interesting. I only managed to see 2/3 rds of the gardens so will go back to see the rest very soon... the RHS shop and garden centre were a gardener and a shopper's paradise. What struck me was the kindness and positivity of the staff when dealing with the public. Restrooms were spotless and the breakfast bap with bacon and sausage was good value for money and very tasty.
I went in late August when most of the flowers had bloomed. But nevertheless there were still flowers in bloom and they are enchanting and beautiful. Nice days for the family or for someone to relax from a busy week.
Absolutely gorgeous garden!! Well maintained with lovely places to sit and have a spot of food. The gift shop is dangerously wonderful and don't get me started on the Garden Center. It's a good thing I was just visiting from American or I would have seriously run up a bill in those two shops. I would absolutely but a membership if I lived in the area so I could visit all the time. Oh, and plenty of parking!!!!
