Church Wood is a small reserve located in the Chilterns AONB. The wood covers roughly 35 acres. This is a beautiful place for a quiet woodland walk. You can take a stroll along dappled paths through beech, ash and oak trees. Church Wood is managed with minimal intervention to allow dead wood to provide natural habitats for wildlife. There is a signposted circular walk along undulating paths. There are no facilities available on site.
Visited on an August morning. Didn't see too much apart from a couple of woodpeckers which made it worthwhile. Nice to be able to take the dog - sit itself not very well signposted but paths are clear and easy to follow. Hope to come back in spring when there's more activity.
What a wonderful surprise Awesome walk with superb birds waiting for you to find! We have lived here fir year and didn't know it existed a must visit
Gorgeous but there are deer so off lead for dogs with scent to deer. Isn't advised. But offlead for dogs with amazing recall (unlike my 16 month pup who saw the deer and it took me 3 minutes to get him and kept on lead rest of walk) but beautiful place
Small but perfectly formed. Mature woodland, best in spring and summer.
A beautiful place of nature in a very picturesque village. Very special country pub too. Thank you RSPB for a wonderful location. Be still and quiet here and the birds will come....
Lovely walks around this area , can be a bit muddy after rain. Why not stop at the White Horse after you walk. Plenty of routes to choose from.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
