RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond is a stunning mix of woodlands, wetlands and grasslands on the south-east shores of Loch Lomond; this remarkable places is home to a huge range of wildlife from the tiniest insect to majestic birds of prey. In spring, the woodland comes alive with a beautiful, fragrant carpet of bluebells. Look out for darting dragonflies, fluttering butterflies and buzzing bees as you wander through the trails in the summer months. In the autumn, the reserve is a melting pot of migrating birds. Finally, our winter highlight is our 10,000 strong goose flock, including magnificent Greenland white-fronted geese. A stunning reserve at any time of year, a walk along the trails will reward you with an array of glorious Scottish wildlife
Amazing reserve with really beautiful landscapes and various species and biomes. The volunteers/staff was really kind and helpful, and even gave us recommendations for the rest of our trip. Thanks a lot Pauline, hope we meet again!
Visited today (Monday). Staff member or volunteer, not sure which was very informative and helpful. The walk to the Bonny Bonny banks of Loch Lomond was around 1.2 miles and was very peaceful and picturesque. Just the sound of nature to enhance your journey. Whether you are a twitcher or not this place is worth a visit. Fee to park if you are not an RSPB member there is a small charge. There is a picnic area and very good disabled access. The paths are well maintained and very easily negotiated. There are marshy area with boardwalks at certain areas but these are of a very good standard. When the walk ends you are rewarded with a view that is so beautiful, see photo. This is one of the best places to view Loch Lomond, it was such a quiet and reflective place, much better than the tourist honeypot locations.
Lovely place! We went when the bluebells were out and heard lots of birds including red polls, blackcaps, and lots of warblers. Walked down to the loch.
Excellent reserve. Highly recommend. This was our first visit here. We were welcomed onsite by Alana, what an amazing welcome we received. Alana is an asset to the RSPB, definitely deserves praise for her conduct. Very professional, very polite and an absolute delight. Thank you, Alana.
Beautiful place, thank you also to the super nice girl welcoming us and explaining us a lot of stuff about RSPB and local life! Bird and tree lovers, you'll be amazed.
Fabulous place and really friendly, helpful volunteers. Got to chat with the lovely Pauline, who shared a lot of useful and valuable information - what a great lady! See you soon hopefully! Will definitely be back.
