This 64-hectare park offers grassland, wetland & woodland with walking & biking tracks.
Couple of parking spots, which are free, on Lund Hill Lane, open all year round, great for walking, cycling, dog walks and families. No amenities here Now a country park located on the former site of Monkton Colliery, then Royston Drift, which closed in 1989, the transformation is remarkable It is now a home to an array of wildlife, with plenty of paths throughout the area Most paths are of loose stone, so may not be suitable for all abilities and wheelchair users Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area
Nice place visited last week with daughter, during the warm weather. Nice paths and trails through woodland, albeit there are several areas where litter is becoming an issue. Caught sight of a couple of deer near the marshland section. Would be ideal for biking as there are several trails through the woodland and not too busy.
This is a lovely little gem of a country park. Beautiful wildlife and flowers and plants. Well maintained and cared for. Lots of parking too.
Great space , nice and peaceful with pleasant local people . Mapped and measured routes around the park for those looking to exercise , with ducks , swans , coots and natural springs of water
It's a nice place to come for walk and you feel safe walking alone. You can go in a flat circle or up the hill and back down. Not many resting places but there is some picnic areas. Nice views & free parking.
Large free carpark gates closed at 8pm. Good wide paths, easy walking ideal for dog walkers joggers and cycling. There are a number of quite steep hills that may be a bit of a challenge for pushchair and wheelchair users. Number of benches throughout the park. The park is well maintained. It was a pleasant walk today before the rain started.
