Stunningly clean and welcoming castle experience. Beautiful landscaped gardens, a fab artisan market, really delicious food at the cafe, and impressive and interesting volunteers to share insights in the various rooms. The kids fort was well built and great for leg stretching. A really wonderful day out for our various family ages.
Excellent experience at the castle today. The owners have made several improvements to the property, including increased parking and an indoor/outdoor restaurant. Beautiful grounds and walking paths. The staff are all pleasant and well informed about the property and history of the castle. The castle is large but not overly so and is full of history and exhibits from the families that have called it home. Great for families, although those with mobility issues will only be able to access the outer parts of the castle or the grounds. Good place for children but moving strollers around the castle will be difficult. Overall an excellent place to visit and learn about the past.
Awesome place to visit, very clean and well looked after. The grounds are fantastic, and the Castle itself is great. The tour inside takes you through history in a great way. 18 pounds per adult is a little pricey, but you get your monies worth.
Great place to visit. Lovely welcoming and friendly staff. Spent the whole day wondering around the castle and grounds. Plenty of deer roaming around which was lovely to see. Plenty of parking, places to eat and amazing views. Staff are knowledgeable on all the history of the place and passionate about explaining the history of the Raby estate to visitors. We have become members we loved it here that much. Will be back really soon.
Beautiful place to visit for a day.. easy parking. Expensive, as these places always are, but worth it, could spend a whole day easily. You aren't allowed picnics, to make sure you buy the exorbitant food there, but they have put a picnic area behind the carpark!! Well out of view of the posh folk! The herds of deer are amazing, and there are lots of non challenging walks to take in the stunning surroundings.
Hugely different since our last visit. Of course the Castle and grounds are still lovely with lots of walks to see the deer, it's now much more diverse with the new Plotters Forest, great for kids, plus lovely gardens and restored stables. Didn't try the catering but the facilities look good. Lots of parking and EV charging points too.
