This nature reserve in Nottingham, England, features a mix of wildflower meadows, woodland, and ponds, providing a habitat for a diverse range of wildlife, including butterflies, bees, and birds. The meadows are particularly notable for their vibrant displays of wildflowers, which bloom in the summer months, attracting visitors from across the region. A network of footpaths and trails allows visitors to explore the reserve, taking in the sights and sounds of nature. The reserve also includes a community orchard and a picnic area, making it a popular spot for families and nature enthusiasts alike.
The bridge to Newbold common has been knocked down, so there is nowhere to go, the bin was overflowing and looked like it hadn't been emptied for a long time.
A great little find, free parking away from the town with a nice, pleasant walk in to see the sights. If you hate wrangling with traffic and seeking free parking within the town, then this is for you. There are approx 30 parking spaces here and it takes about 18 minutes to walk into the town centre. The car park is height restricted so may not suit camper vans, but a great place for cars or average sized 4x4's. The car park has a bin to get rid of your travel trash and you can choose the noisy main road to walk in or through the park area and down the side of Jephson Gardens, which is much better. Similar travel time either way.
Great place that borders the Newbold Comyn. Lovely unspoilt area. Walk the dog around here often.
Good dog walk. Parking at two sites and the the mix of wildlife reserve and disused golf course makes this a regular visit for us
Peaceful walks in nature we need more nature reserves
Lovely countryside inside a town...just what you need!!!
Hiking
Good for kids
Kid-friendly hikes
