Ramsdown Hill is a scenic spot offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. On a clear day, visitors can see as far as the Welsh Mountains and the Severn Estuary. The hill is also home to a variety of wildlife, including ponies, cattle, and birds. A popular spot for walkers and hikers, Ramsdown Hill features several trails of varying difficulty that allow visitors to explore the area's natural beauty.
Good car park beyond the boulders at the entrance and clear (sometimes muddy) paths through woodland with lovely birdsong. The woods open out onto heathland and dogs need to be on short leads during nesting season (March to August).
I love these woods. Fantastic on a hot day as the canopy keeps the walk a lovely cool one. Super views from the viewpoint of New Forest, Isle of Wight, Bournemouth and Poole. The only issue is dog poop, I can collect up to a dozen lots in one morning walk, and the poop bin is often over flowing, I bag all this up too. So, hopefully, like-minded conscientious people like me help keep the area tidy. Worth a visit for a lovely walk and great free parking.
This is a lovely place to come to walk your dog. The entrance to the car park has 2 massive boulders on each side so be careful when entering the car park as the gap in between is very narrow. Other than that there is a lot of routes you can walk and there are some good vantage points for taking in the spectacular views
A great little hidden gem right near the airport, stunning viewpoint with views to the Isle of Wight, Bournemouth and the new forest. Explore the woods to find the remnants of ww2 buildings. For a longer walk cross the road into Ashley heath. Stick to the paths though as there's areas of bog and lots of protected species like sand lizards you can spot if you're quiet.
What a lovely place for a mystical, magical walk. My boys love stacking logs against the trees here. Making dens or playing hide and seek behind the large number of trees. A nice place for walking dogs too
Lovely walks for all , walk through the forest .bit of a trek up the hill (for the unfit like me) but well worth the views .if you don't want to go up then plenty of footpaths in other directions .The dogs love this place and come back happy after all the running and exploring they do .A little gem of a place
