Perched 12 meters high in the treetops, this elevated walkway offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding forest, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with the resident birds of prey, including owls, eagles, and hawks, as they soar and glide through the skies.
We visited on a quiet weekday in late November, on a chilly but clear sky and sun shine day. As we walked through the woods to the viewpoint, we heard a raptor in the trees, then out of the woods to a terrific view over Troutsdale. Whilst looking out at the sun drench view, we heard another raptor below, then went for a walk through the woods and as we headed back to the viewpoint, again we heard a raptor above us then it came into view soaring over our heads then turning allowing the breeze to change its direction, couldn't ask for a better visit.
Had a lovely picnic saw a Robin 2 lizards a slug and a wasp but it could have been bee. Great day
Busy today but the star attraction didn't show ( during my stay anyway ) but several other Raptors did. Buzzards Gos and Red Kite plus very photogenic male Crossbill. On a Sunny day it's always a pleasure to visit
Lovely walk through woodland, beautiful view, great viewing point for watching raptors
Not easy to find at first visit, forget Sat nav or map, use Google directions. Or if using a map head for settlement of Sawdon and follow road upwards ( off A170 - brown sign for Anvil Inn). Nice solid path from car park and amazing views at end of it. Binoculars essential.
Great view across the valley. Seats to sit and relax. A short walk from the carpark.
