The Bayeux Tapestry in Reading Museum was one of the stops on our walking tour of Reading. The tapestry is located on the first floor in a room of its own and its very large spread across several walls. Really good display with information board telling a complex story that you may wish to look up.
We took the Abbey tour with volunteer guides David and Rosey who were so well informed and engaging. Turned out we were the only two booked on to this date, so we enjoyed a private guided tour! Thanks for teaching us so much about the history and hidden elements of our town. Highly recommended!
Very information on the medieval to more recent history of Reading and fun to explore. The Huntley and Palmers biscuit tin collection is definitely worth a browse as there are so many! Also includes some natural history in the form of taxidermy.
A local authority museum of note. Traces the history of the city from the establishment of the now dissolved Benedictine monastery to today.
