I love visits here with my two dogs. Even on days I need my wheelchair there's a pretty decent amount accessible. Love identify the plants and trees and feeding the occasional duck. Well maintained area full of stunning nature. Whoever decorated the old mining wheel for the coronation did a wonderful job. I forgot to get photos so hope it's still there tomorrow when I go back.
Took a nice gentle walk here with the dog. There were lots of interesting things to see (bird and butterfly wise) though I think we took an 'unofficial' path back to the start. Made for a pleasant short journey break en route elsewhere.
Very enjoyable. Lovely group of catkins. Thank u to all concerned.
Nice short walk, good paths =)
Small little nature reserve based around the banks and surrounds of the Red River. It gets its name from the iron oxide that ran from the Loscoe Pit (now the site of a park), turning it red. If you get to the top end of the reserve, cross over the bridge and follow the footpath through the field. It snakes up the hill and you and go as far as Loscoe Denby Lane near the farm or all the way to the church at Denby. Makes a great little walk.
Very pleasant short walk, quite busy with dog walkers and families. Local history and information about nature sign posted.
