Redfern's Cottage features five museum galleries that chart the story of Uttoxeter from a small Anglo-Saxon settlement to the modern town of today. Our galleries are now fully open to all visitors. if you have any queries in advance of your visit please contact us.
A quite splendid little museum, staffed by exceedingly friendly volunteers who thoroughly deserve you popping in! Whilst the four cottages comprising the museum are over 400 years old, the rooms and exhibitions are bright, informative and up-to-date and the whole place is smart and lovingly cared for. Tea or coffee, cakes or crumpets in the front room are a must - or in the rear garden area on a fine day - then you can finish your visit by browsing the many pre-owned books on sale. A little gem of a place!
A small but interesting museum that is worth visiting to learn more about Uttoxeter, the markets, its place in history and industries. They have stories from local people across the centuries and it is run by friendly people.
Lovely service Barkley our Dog loves visiting for the belly rubs etc. Lovely friendly volunteers. Hot Chocolate Lovely has always when we have visited.
Absolutely wonderful staff, beautiful courtyard around the back serving coffee and a cupcake for just PS2 on the day we visited As well as the interesting and informative museum about the history of Uttoxeter, there's a lovely little gift shop and an array of second hand books available to purchase for a donation. I've lived in and around Uttoxeter all my life but hadn't realised what a little gem this place is!
Really interesting and friendly museum. A beautiful slice of Victoria sponge cake and coffee for just PS3.00.
A lovely little spot to enjoy a cuppa and a cake and excellent value for money. A cappuccino and warm, homemade scone with butter and jam for PS2 Too good to miss. A real little gem
