Serene local park known for its Victorian bandstand concerts, nesting birds & tree sculptures.
Let's hope that the pool gets a sympathetic new owner. Some faded splendour here
We really enjoyed a stroll in the spa gardens thisafternoon. The flower displays are really superb and are themed with explanations of 80 years and a connection to men who were trained in Ripon involved in D day landings. The cafe was busy and the young lady who served our ice cream was courteous smiling and helpful. Great place to stop for a coffee at any time
Spa Gardens are an absolute haven for anyone wishing to have a rest from shopping in Ripon as it's a short distance from the centre. Walk around the gardens whilst listening to the birds, enjoy the scenery and beautiful plants, and maybe see an exhibition. Challenge the children to find the Green Man then have fun at the crazy golf. A must, and regular for cyclists from North and West Yorkshire is Sun Parlour, offering snacks and meals to meet many tastes. Plenty of space outside to bring your dog or enjoy the fresh air or sit inside. There is an access ramp for those, of any age, with less mobility. Toilets are available adjacent to Sun Parlour.
Special mention to the Cafe in the Park ( Squid and Tonic). We had a lovely lunch here, one falafel flatbread with peppers and chili sauce plus one salmon pate, bread and salad. Great service and excellent extra hot lattes. Water freely available. No nicer place to lunch on a sunny day but equally good on other days.
Lovely park that caters for all. We saw on the Internet the cafe was permanently closed however it is open but under another name. The food was delicious and so varied and good value for money. It's definitely worth a visit.
The Council and the volunteers so an amazing job of looking after this beautiful Park. It really does have everything for everyone; excellent plants, flowers and gardens, lovely crazy golf, a nice cafe, clean toilets, bandstand, bowling green and plenty of open space to chill out or play on. Would highly recommend.
