Located in the heart of London, the River Thames Visitor Centre is a unique attraction that showcases the rich history and importance of the River Thames. The centre features interactive exhibits, artefacts, and stunning visual displays that tell the story of the river's role in shaping the city's development, trade, and culture. Visitors can explore the centre's many interactive features, including a virtual tour of the river, a recreated Victorian-era dock, and a collection of historic vessels. The centre also offers panoramic views of the river from its observation deck, providing a unique perspective on the city's iconic landmarks.
Really cool experience for a hot summer day-a boat trip from Richmond to Hampton court. Cost PS11. There is a bar on board. There is no roof to cover you from the sun though so if you are worried to get sunburn, will have to seat on a ground floor, which is covered but doesn't have good ventilation.
I'm giving it one star because this place appears to be permanently closed. There are no written signs stating this, but there are other signs. We were disappointed because the sole purpose of our visit was this Visitor Centre. To be fair, their website should have been a clue.
Stunning Riverside walk, with brilliant views of the Thames and Richmond bridge. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view and also go for long walks. Also a few restaurants close by as well to enjoy a meal. Parking around the area is difficult if not near impossible, with space allocated for residents only.
Nice and quiet place, lovely
Richmond Riviera doesn't have a visitor centre as such but you can stop at the main Library (not the lending library) and get an exposition or two of the wealth of history of Richmond thru the ages (and pick up what's on leaflets) Worth the stroll along the riverside, either West tow path towards the back of Kew Gardens, or East Towpath towards Ham village and Richmond Park. Ham House worth visiting their Victorian vegetable Gardens
Always a favourite along the Thames
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
