We recently booked rock UK for an hour's climbing party for our daughters ninth birthday and we couldn't be more impressed! She took eight friends to climb with her but they were more than happy to accommodate at ninth child who wasn't climbing but wanted to watch. In the end she did climb! Extremely friendly welcome , exactly the right level of fun but safe teaching encouraging teamwork and learning. Feel like we've found an absolute gem. The girl's instructor, Kirsty, was an excellent tutor and really good with the girls who were very excited and keen to get climbing! I couldn't recommend rock UK highly enough for a birthday party and we really glad to have found it for future activities. My daughter had an excellent time, we will be back! Thank you!
Our very first experience of rock climbing and we had an absolute amazing time, me and my 8 year old son had no previous experience my son was given an introduction which he loved! Our friend who is a qualified climber/instructor met us there and stayed with us both until we left 4hours later we will definitely be back! We had so much fun highly recommended
The climbing centre is great IF you're going for rope climbing. If you're going for bouldering, I wouldn't go here and would find somewhere else (like Boulders) more suited to bouldering. The climbing area is almost entirely dedicated to rope climbing with a small section in the corner for bouldering. Quite disappointing really, not worth the PS9 I paid to get in and I was disappointed that I wasn't told (when I specifically asked for bouldering) that the section is really quite small. The facilities can't be faulted and the staff are lovely, but dedicated to rope climbing.
Fun afternoon spent here on 3/8/24 with my two children (aged 15 & 18). They began with an archery taster class, which was professionally instructed by Andy (apologies in advance if we have his name wrong).. Andy made this lots of fun with challenges that gave added excitement to the activity .. Both my Son and Daughter thoroughly enjoyed. After a brief stop off for some lunch at the cafe (which was reasonably priced), we then headed to the climbing taster. Again we were met and instructed by Andy who made this activity as enjoyable and as fun as the archery. It's really great to have an activity centre like this relatively local as it offers teenagers a choice of experiences. Parents of teenagers can probably relate to the fact that finding activities for older children is difficult and limited but this centre gives great choice. We will be returning for a repeat of these activities soon and will also be booking for the high ropes during the next few weeks. Well done all and thank you so much for a great afternoon. Would highly recommend.
Amazing place with lots to do. Fantastic cafe and look forward to returning with students.
Amazing staff and instructors in the climbing centre. Teenage and younger sons enjoyed learning to climb with a great instructor. Calm and relaxed atmosphere with superb facilities for any waiting parents/partners too. Outdoor play for children is worth a visit on its own without the cafe offering everything from great coffee to pizza to ice cream! Easily a two hour visit and opportunities for lovely walks from the centre too.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Gender-neutral toilets
