This was an amazing place. I am surprised that I had not been here sooner. My Son spotted it as he is always looking for the next place to take our Collie dog out on his next adventure. Amazing New Forest views pony's galore you can walk miles but Rockford Sandpit interesting and fun a disused quarry I understand Rocky loved it so did we. A small Ford and a play in the water, Ice Cream van on hand too. Go and visit you won't regret it.
I love the circular walk up the made up road, beyond the gate, to the flat plain at the top with great views and usually plenty of New Forest Ponies. It's an ideal spot for dog walking and family picnics, with plenty of space for games.
Huge open natural sandpit. Stunning to look at but dont go in a heatwave! Ouch! Nestled away from a small ford - great for kids all round. Lovely starting point for a New Forest wander and back to the ford for an ice cream.
Nice sandy hill with walks nearby. Not a lot to see but killed an hour
Amazing place for a walk! When you have small kids really cool to play in the sand, we took some toys for the sand and our boys really enjoyed it!
