The Manor - house and garden - will be open in 2024 on Wednesday, Saturday and Bank Holidays - 1st May - 28th September 2pm -5pm.
Worth a visit just to see the magical topiary. The garden embraces the landscape beyond and surrounds the house with some very formal spaces. It's a very controlled garden but very much reflects the era the house was built. A lovely afternoon.
Contains some fine examples of Arts & Crafts furnishing, mainly in oak and elm. The Manor remains a family home with the present occupants custodians of its legacy since 2017. Its gardens in the sunshine yesterday (11/05/2024) were very pleasant to walk around but beware of much crazy paving and trip hazards! The Manor's only open on Weds and Sat afternoons during the summer season and at PS14 an adult for house & garden (PS10 for entry to the garden alone) rather expensive. The guidebook's a fiver. No photos, no touching of contents, no sips from a water bottle (as I found out yesterday! ) are allowed in the house. There's a little cafe in the grounds selling tea and cake and decent toilet facilities not far away.
Wonderful Arts& Crafts major house in beautiful gardens. Excellent day out. Lovely tea rooms also with real home made cakes. Very restricted opening days though so check in advance!
Very interesting house and lovely garden. Nice little cafe for tea and cake.
It is a privately owned property and garden. Half of the manor is open to the public and the whole garden. It is lovely to walk around in the gardens, it is nicely maintained. Parking is allocated to visitors, also a tea room is on site.
Beautiful gardens, so well looked after. The house is lovely, as is the little private church. Well worth a visit. The little cafe is great and they have gluten free cake.
