Roman Alcester is the exciting free-of-charge exhibition interpreting and displaying objects from Alcester's Roman past and providing an information and learning resource on the Roman period. Alcester is one of the most investigated Roman small towns in the country, with over 100 archaeological digs in the last 80 years. Recent excavations have revealed much about the area of the Roman town which would have been outside the boundary wall built in the 3rd century AD. The museum is fully accessible and has two disabled persons' parking spaces accessed from Seggs Lane. The free town car park is just a few steps away across Priory Road. Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs only are welcome.
Interesting if you are into roman as I am.Only small room but has a lot of different displays.Good.
Small museum showing artefacts from the times Romans were ruling there. Reminder how old is the history of Alcester.
Lovely old food packaging aka pottery, and old sandals from Roman Times. I struggled to figure out one of the Latin inscriptions on one of the coins. "Fel temp reparatio" we decided meant "good look with the repair". The museum is free and only one room.
A little bit smaller than I expected ( one room ) but full of interesting artifacts and information on the roman era. Dog are not allowed, I only add this information as i couldn't find if they where allowed on the internet anywhere and took my dog with me. Super friendly staff a must for any history fans.
I didn't go into the library and museum because it was a school trip I had taken there the town itself it's a lovely place I had a good wander around and it's worth a visit also the roman museum is closed on a Tuesday all day
