This museum is located in a former RAF control tower and showcases the history of RAF Rougham, a World War II airfield. The tower has been restored to its original state, and visitors can explore the operations room, where they can see the original plotting table and other equipment. The museum also features exhibits on the airfield's history, including photographs, artifacts, and personal stories of the people who served there.
My Great Uncle was a B17 pilot there during the war. I visited to learn more about his experiences. The museum is unmatched in its authenticity. If you want to learn about the American Airmen, then you must go here. Contact Graham Sage before you go to arrange a visit. Unparalleled personal experience. A search for their website provides contact information.
Small but amazing site offering an informative glimpse into the former USAAF airfield that was here during WW2. The poignant tower and historical displays are a must. Refreshments available on site, too. The volunteers give a warm welcome. It's well worth the visit.
we visited to attend a Special event and went for a quick look and was pleasantly surprised. The quality and quantity of the exhibits it was well worth a look
We had a great visit here whilst attending the local amateur radio rally. The tower and its museum were really great showing the history and some great exhibits. There were a couple of adjacent huts with more things inside too. The little cafe was great, doing some great bacon butties and absolutely fantastic cakes. It's not huge and will only last an hour or two, but definitely worth attending even if it's on one of those Sundays where your not sure what to get up to. We spent around 2 hrs there.
Awesome place to visit.. what u call a hidden gem in Suffolk. Cafe is lovely and the staff are too and the food is awesome too.
Had a lovely visit with my children and my parents. It was really interesting and a great first visit. Also, the tea room was a lovely surprise and so well priced. We will visit again. Everyone was so friendly
