The Ruins of Blantyre Priory are the remnants of a 12th-century Augustinian priory located in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The priory's architecture is a mix of Romanesque and Gothic styles, with a cruciform church and a cloister surrounded by domestic buildings. Although the priory is now largely in ruins, its stone walls still stand, with parts of the church, chapter house, and refectory remaining. The site is surrounded by a peaceful, rural setting, with the River Clyde flowing nearby.

Went with a group of friends to see this enigmatic site in the wild, and I must say, it was an adventure of a lifetime. From the moment we embarked on the trail, we were greeted by nature's untamed beauty, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and a sense of serenity that instantly captivated us. The path to was far from a walk in the park, requiring us to navigate through rugged terrains and conquer steep ascents. Yet, the challenging journey only heightened our anticipation, fueling our excitement as we eagerly pushed forward, driven by the allure of discovering hidden treasures within the ancient carvings.
Bit of a tricky walk off the Blantyre Farm Road but worth the walk. Best to do on a bright sunny day.
Absolutely entrancing the red brick walls of the castle are mesmerising! An amazing place for family and very common amongst dog walkers in the area . There's the river Clyde flowing next to it and David Livingstone Bridge a walk from the castle. Situated in a beautiful affluent area.
It's tricky to find but an enjoyable challenge.
The photos people are putting on here are of bothwell castle which is over the river and not the same place. The ruin of this priory is a few stones that are left in some woodland. Nothing much to see at all. Its just somewhere for locals to walk there dogs.
