A 2 ft narrow-gauge railway that runs from the Ruislip Lido lake to the Ruislip Woods, offering a scenic ride through the woods and surrounding countryside.
Great little train although it is not using coal but it is pretty good experience with family and friends, and it travels for longer distance and faster than i thought to other side with sandy beaches and kids' playground, very chil and nice location for an afternoon break or so, would be even better during a sunny day to swim as well, there is even swan on the beach/lake, the only complaint is the parking which is pretty expensive for minimum of 3 hours, i assume it is all used to fund the facilities by the council so visitors beware, even though i would say i enjoy the time i was there
Fun family friendly outing with popular prices. The train is super frequent taking to the artificial beach, where there are picnic tables and a pub. Near there you can walk around the forest or enjoy a walk back around the lake.
A wonderful day out for all the family. There's parking onsite but you will need to pay. You can enjoy travelling around on the mini train (you will need to buy a ticket at the ticket station) or have a leisurely stroll through the beautifully kept woods. There are coffee shops, restaurants and toilet facilities plus a man-made beach complete with a pirate ship jungle! There are also lots of other new and exciting playground things for the children to enjoy. On a hot day, you really feel like you're by the seaside (although you shouldn't actually go into the water!). The sand and the views of the water are enough. If it couldn't get any better, there's a free splash park too! The solar system is mapped out across the Lido to mimic the order and distance the planets are in positioned in the Solar System, so it's educational too. There's an adult outdoor gym. There's something for everyone (even doggies will enjoy it!) and most of it is free!
Very nice place for the family's. Highly recommend it . One english bar with a delicious food coffee shop, train running through the forest as attraction for kids. Lots of green nature , outside gym. Love it .
Really enjoyed the fantastic ride with Ruislip Lido Railway. The ticket rate is cheap (3 Pounds for one way and 4 Pounds for two way) but the train journey is worth. It's about 10-15 minutes journey (one side) however, the scenic view along the route is very attractive. Also they have friendly staff and the facilities are also great. Overall it was a nice experience for me.
Appreciate all the volunteers to work together and run the Ruislip lido railway. I always have great time here with my child and it will definitely be one of the best memories in his childhood. Today we come to the Steam Gala and we enjoy the day very much !
