Nice and serene environment. Multiple activities despite the exorbitant Carpark Charges...
A really good walk with the dogs. A great walk along a concrete path from one car park to another. It's 8km in total and very accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Apart from the odd sheep, it's a great place to let the dogs off as they can run around in lots of open space. There is a cafe at both ends which is always a bonus. There are lots of bikes but generally everyone is very courteous. Parking is PS4 for 4 hours, and it's cash, or contactless. The downside is lots of dog poo...so watch out if your little ones run in the grass around the car park area especially.
We did kayaking, which was a fun experience. Staff were friendly enough, and we were able to safely store our car keys with the receptionist while we were out on the water. The wetsuits they provided were not completely dry, making them cold in spots and uncomfortable to put on. I would recommend this experience.
Great place for a relaxing afternoon. Boat rides, cycling or just taking a relaxing walk around this huge park. Play area for little ones and also great for picnics. Parking was easy, but found it expensive. Well maintained and clean.
Rutland waters have always been pleasurable getaway from everyday busy life. Calm beautiful lake with huge car park, cafes, public toilets and plenty of bins located convincingly everywhere. Can easily spend a nice day out with friends and family, on a good sunny day, you can even get a boat ride too. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view of open landscapes and country side air. Always peaceful and quiet, it can get a little busy during summer times but plenty of space for everyone to relax.. Well maintained overall! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to just relax and get away for a day!
OMG! IT WAS ACTUALLY SO AMAZING! MY SCOOL DID AN END OF YEAR TRIP HERE (SWIMMING) AND THE LIFEGUARDS WERE SO SWEET AND HELPFUL!!! I couldn't swim at first but adjusted perfectly fine. LOVE IT
