A vibrant museum with large garden. Of course a must visit for WW fans, but also to enjoy the garden and atmosphere. Excellent tour. A nice walking path to Grasmere starts just above the place, better that walking in a busy street. NOTE: many images in Maps are not from the Mount. They are from the Rydal Hall, which is just some 100m/yds away, but it is a different place.
Visited Rydal Mount on a lovely Sunny Day. So nice to see that this still belongs to Wordsworth descendants. Very quaint house with just enough information for you to get the feel of the place. The gardens were quintessentially British with lovely views. The Tea Room was quaint and all the staff were lovely. Enough to keep you occupied for a couple of hours.
Charming place with lovely friendly staff . My dog was welcomed in the grounds . The car park is free with the ticket . The house is absolutely charming and kept beautifully . I was lucky enough to come in daffodil season .
Beautiful house full of atmosphere, stunning gardens with Dora's meadow. Plus a pleasant tea rooms with a little outdoor garden area
PS5 for gardens, which is excellent value as they're worth a visit. PS12 if you also want to visit Wordsworth's house, which is a big increase. The map of the gardens is based on the 1850 drawings and so they're different now. E.g. there's no view of Lake Windermere because the trees have grown and obscured the view. Steep drive up from the main road, and people are wandering around so be aware.
The grounds are lovely and well maintained and you get to learn a lot about Wordsworth.
