A beautiful and peaceful place. Historic Scotland has conserved a number of graveslabs in a shelter for safe viewing. Well worth the trip up from Campbeltown.
We enjoyed a little wonder around here, interesting information, dogs not allowed.
They've had some financial support to pull up and protect some effigies of knights & monks. Has a few good signs. There is much to see if you keep walking through the trees.
Some amazing carved stones here and definitely worth a look while going to visit saddell estate to see the castle, beach, Anthony Gormley statue and the cottage.
Worth a visit if you're passing the area. There's a car park and it's only a couple of minute walk from there. The abbey itself is mostly ruined, but there are a few obviously very old grave stones. There's a good enclosed display area with some information boards and some very well preserved old stone carvings.
Very ruined abbey, but this makes it a wonderful place to visit. There is also a small building with impressive stone carved grave slabs of the Lords of the Western Kingdom of Scotland and the Isles, typical of this area of Scotland!
