This picturesque reservoir in Leicestershire, England, is surrounded by rolling hills and woodland, offering scenic walks and picnic areas. The reservoir is a popular spot for water sports, including sailing, kayaking, and fishing. Visitors can also explore the nearby village of Saddington, which features historic buildings, a church, and a pub serving local ales.
Very cool place. Would like to go cycling around here in the summer although it may get a bit busy. The road around the reservoir is pretty narrow so that could be interesting. Certainly a great place to take your dogs for a walk. We did sneak a swim in very early in the morning. I think if you respect others and don't leave any rubbish etc then all is well.
Nice place, very picturesque. Roads around the reservoir can be very narrow and passing can be a problem. Catch out for horse riders. Didn't see the famous Saddington monster. But believed to be related to Nessy.
Beautiful on a sunny day for a picnic.
Relaxed quiet and peaceful. 10-15 walk from lovely Saddington.
Its a steange place, pops up out of nowhere, with no real signposting and veey easy to miss. There is no real car park, you park wherever you can off there road and sometimes strike lucky with the spot. Its a nice reservoir, in the middle of beautiful countryside. Worth a trip. The only thing I didn't like is that it seems to be a favourite for young people in their cars that mimic sports cars. Apart from that nice place go get lost in.
Nice place to get some good photos of the sunset.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
