Moored on the River Medway in Kent, this historic sailing barge has been beautifully restored to its former glory. Built in 1893, the Kitty is one of the last remaining Thames sailing barges, a type of boat that was once common on the Thames Estuary. Now a museum and educational centre, visitors can explore the barge's deck and cabins, learning about its history and the importance of the sailing barge trade in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
We had our wedding reception on SB Kitty it was a wonderful venue and all our guests were blown away!
I used to run the Pilotage for Portsmouth. I have been on Kitty many times. A fantastic memory of the distant past and if you get the chance to visit then grab that chance with both hands.
Great place to walk the dogs.
Love this Thames barge
