A treasure trove of models, paintings, photographs and artefacts which tell the story of Salcombe's links with ships and the sea from ancient times to the Second World War. There's plenty to amuse and engage younger visitors including hands-on displays, treasure hunts, games, pirate's dressing -up and models in the 'young sailor's corner'. The museum has a unique gallery of paintings depicting the famed fruit schooners built in Salcombe in the 19th century. And finally don't miss the sea-bed treasures recovered by divers from the hundreds of shipwrecks that line our coast. You'll find us below the Salcombe Tourist Information Centre

Great little museum. So much history and interesting artifacts in such a small building. Friendly helpful staff, worth a visit to learn about Salcombes past.
A lovely little museum, that does a great deal with the artefacts they have and gives a far more detailed and varied experience than many larger museums.
A friendly small museum that has good exhibits about the second world war and also local wrecks. Unsuitable for big groups but perfect for an hour of pottering.
