Salt Knowe is a historic, 19th-century, Italianate-style tower situated in the town of Galashiels, Scottish Borders, Scotland. Designed by architect Frederick Thomas, it was built in 1856 as a memorial to Sir Walter Scott, one of Scotland's most celebrated authors. The 100-foot-tall tower offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from its top platform, which is accessible via a spiral staircase.
