Sandymouth sits along a stretch of coast between Bude and Morwenstow, one of Cornwall's wild and dramatic corners with a character all of its own. With a dramatic backdrop of sheer cliffs dating back millions of years, and a pebble ridge at the top of the beach with sand exposed as the tide recedes, Sandymouth is popular amongst surfers and rock-poolers alike. Whether you're looking for a short stroll or a more challenging walk there are many exhilarating coastal walks to enjoy. The South West Coast Path offers walkers cliff top views stretching for miles, past Bude and beyond Tintagel. Learn more about the intriguing history of the Grenville family, owners of a fine mansion that stood for 60 years at Stowe Barton.
Lovely bay and coast paths to walk. Gets very busy on the car parks and overspills. The road is narrow and can be challenging to drive up and down with traffic and lots of pedestrians also. Dog friendly beach.
A beautiful beach. Dog friendly when on leads. Lifeguards here in season. Car park free for national trust members pay for others PS5 for 4 hours. Has a great cafe with large outside seating area. Surf shack for wetsuit and bodyguard needs. Only drawback is access - is a single track road, so you must drive slowly, paying attention to passing point locations. #DogFriendlyBeach
Decent beach run by the national trust. Carpark is 2.50 for an hour if not a member. It's quite a rocky beach, and not much of a beach when the tide is high. Can be quite a wind trap, but good to go exploring rocks pools with kids. Cafe at the top has good coffee and cakes to choose from, with a small amount of souvenirs
Beautiful surroundings, our first visit here but will definitely be back. Joined the National Trust here and now have lots more places to visit. If you have children the coastal walk needs to be well supervised as it is not fenced off and a shear drop over the cliff edge.
A beautiful place to visit with a wide beach and amazing views of the sea from the clifftops. It's a National Trust car park, which is well run. In the spring there are lambs up on the cliffs and although there are signs asking owners to put their dogs on a leash, there are still some irresponsible people up there with free-running dogs!
Lovely beach with lifeguards. Not too busy. Golden sand. Good for body boarding. Toilets, paid for parking, cafe and ice-cream. Everything you need and not too crowded. Take good footwear as top of the beach is stoney
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Public toilet
Good for kids
Dogs allowed
