Discover award-winning exhibitions, iconic objects and stories of incredible scientific achievement
This Museum is an absolute delight for both kids and adults. It's not just interesting but incredibly entertaining, offering a perfect blend of education and fun. Plan for a full day to truly explore everything it has to offer--not only to see the exhibits but, more importantly, to teach kids how things have evolved from the past to the present. A must-visit for anyone curious about the wonders of science and technology!
Great museum set over 4 floors. It was school holidays so pretty busy. Entrance is free but there is mandatory online ticketing. A bit of aggressive data collection and donation pressure here, but they need to make money so I get it. The displays are amazing and very hands on if you are kid or big kid. The layout of the museum is fantastic and the collections themselves are great. A knock out is the timepiece collection. Truly amazing.
Massive museum, I would recommend reserving your free tickets in advance as it can get busy. So much to see so plan ahead. If you have toddlers the garden on -1 is great for them to explore, it has a water table, sound and light activities. Older kids would enjoy the permanent exhibitions. Lots of toilets and cafes around the museum and I would recommend eating at the Diner which has a good selection of food and ice creams.
My family & I had a great learning experience at the museum. Must be first on your list if you are visiting London with kids. We could only do the ground floor in about 3 hours. Lovely exhibits related to space, and engineering inventions. Truly amazed with how they have been preserved. There are also many sensory and interactive areas for young kids to play. We didn't have to wait too long to get in on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded. We could carry our food and drinks, and walk around with a stroller. Museum shop has very good merchandise. Will need a few visits to cover all the sections, and we will definitely be back!
This is one of my favourite museums in London - Science Museum. Seriously this place never gets old! It's got everything, from huge energy houses to gigantic vehicles and epic 3D galaxy planets. Every visit feels like the first time. I was in awe... This is free of charge but you still need to book an online ticket on their website to visit. You can also donate PS5 or more if you wish to. Highly recommend this museum for a couple or family with kids.
Such an amazing place! Lots of things to see and it's great that it's free but I would definitely recommend purchasing the tickets (free) beforehand otherwise you will be waiting in the queue for a while! There's an amazing shop inside!
