Scone Palace is one of Scotland's favourite visitor attractions where 42 kings of Scots were crowned on the 'Stone of Scone' which is also known as the Stone of Destiny, and today it's home to the Earls of Mansfield. Within the palace, are beautiful and rare collections including French furniture which once belonged to Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, bed hangings worked on by Mary, Queen of Scots and the superb portrait of Dido Elizabeth Belle and Lady Elizabeth Murray by Scottish Artist, David Martin. There are 100 acres of woodland gardens to explore including the unique Murray Star Maze. Enjoy a delicious scone in the coffee shop and browse the gift & food shops. Dog-friendly grounds. Free parking. Memberships available.
We had a fantastic tour and stay at Scone Palace. The staff are so wonderful and the grounds are large and beautiful. Our kiddos enjoyed the playground! You can book the Balvaird apartment which has 3 bedrooms and a kitchen. It was a lovely time for everyone!
The grounds are a bit disappointing. Huge. Formal and walled gardens aren't finished yet. The estate was very short of flowers. Had a nice ice lolly. Paying to upkeep a rich person's private estate! No reason to go really!
Loved our visit. Plenty of history and great guides. The gardens are worth walking round, especially the woods with the memorials to fallen soldiers, very well done. There was a queue on the road at opening time.
Every person needs to visit Scone Palace. It truly is a little slice of paradise. The staff are lovely and there is a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere throughout the Palace and Palace grounds. The facilities are really clean and well maintained. The food and drinks are unbelievably tasty. Thank you for taking the time and care to look after this beautiful place. I'll definitely be back
Scone Palace is a very popular tourist attraction. The day I visited there were three tour buses ahead of me. I tried to time my entrance to the Palace. The Palace interior is simply amazing, full of history. It is self guided, but you can ask questions as there are guides in the rooms. The gift shop and cafe were also very busy. I got a seat in the cafe very quickly and the food was lovely. I enjoyed a walk around the grounds as it was a lovely day. Highly recommended but be patient it is a busy place.
Turned up around 11am and spent a good three hours wondering around with family and two dogs. Great place to visit and grounds are great for photos.
