The island is uninhabited and has no buildings or infrastructure, preserving its natural beauty and tranquility. Accessable frkm Eastgate, Deeping St James. This island has a number of intersecting footpaths and is a favourite place for children to play
With limited places to visit as we 'oldies' attempt to circumvent Covid-19 we took a walk along the river bank from The Bell pub at Deeping St James to Low Locks and back along East gate. Cool but good to get out in the fresh air. Gorgeous swan on the lock.
What a hidden gem! So beautiful. Lovely waterside benches to relax on and watch the fish in the lovely clear water. Beautiful waterlilies too.
Popular island that allows access the the opposite side of the River Welland. Whilst quite peaceful most of the time it suffers from litter and antisocial behaviour. The island in more recent years has become overrun with nettles.
