A peculiarly shaped limestone cave, resembling a giant's fist, with a large opening that allows visitors to walk inside and explore its eerie, dimly lit interior, featuring ancient formations, stalactites, and stalagmites.
Was unlucky it was zero visibility in July but loved the walk there and the surrounding area. Won't mark it down because of global warming!
Lovely place, very busy with walkers . Good place to walk dogs . Lovely views . Plenty benches on the way but no bins or toilets at the car park so be prepared
A shelter and viewpoint on top of the scout scar crags. It has great panoramic views of the lake district, the Yorkshire dales, and the hills around Morecambe Bay. It is in a sparse woodland filled with wildlife, including Robins, Wrens, Jackdaws, and Ravens. It's a short walk from the car park, but I'd recommend walking up from Kendal if you have the time.
Great easy walk to blow away the Easter cobwebs.
Beautiful walk, stunning views in the sunshine. Shame the map of the surrounding area was missing from inside the mushroom
Fabulous place to.watch the sun go down. Inside it points out what great Lake District hills you are looking towards .
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
