This museum showcases the history and heritage of Seaford, a charming town in East Sussex, England. The museum features exhibits on the town's maritime past, its role in the Napoleonic Wars, and its development into a popular seaside resort. Visitors can explore displays on the town's social and economic history, including its fishing industry, railway, and tourism. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and events throughout the year.
An amazing collection and journey through local history, the history of the building and the story of technology in work and at home. Betamax video recorder - check. Vintage calculators and dictation machines - check. A Dragon 32 computer - check. Cameras, telephones, typewriters and a good selection of home computers, and amongst all this, an original Victorian bathing machine. And the views from the rooftop are spectacular.
A brilliant time capsule of life in the town, and the UK in general. A variety of exhibitions including: Technology across the ages, the history of the local area, WW2 features/relics, and Shipwrecks to name a few. There were lots of interactive features for both adults and children. And the volunteers were very welcoming and informative. I would really recommend to anyone visiting the area, and compared to other museums that we've visited, it was very good value for money.
Had a great day out lovely place to visit ,full off things to look at for all ages ,friendly staff
This was a great museum. It kept us and our kids ages 5-13 occupied for a couple of hours. It really is a tardis- so much to see and really interactive also a great trail for kids. Seaford is a lovely stony beach on a sunny day.
A museum of local history for Seaford and exhibits of other tools and technologies through time including TV and radio, clocks and telephones, typewriters to home computing. Some really valuable historic examples on display and also some interactive features too. Great to see to the local history of Seaford such as lost cinemas, the town through wartime and some old shop and location facias and features. Excellent value entrance price (less than a tenner for the 4 of us) and friendly staff throughout. Well worth a visit. Not a massive location but packed with information and exhibits.
Passed by this lovely fort for years and did not realise how interesting it is. A real history of Seaford. Loads of memorabilia in there. Staff were so friendly.. Worth a visit. Had a chuckle to myself as recognised most of the displays.
