Large tree-lined park featuring a playground and a 2km walking route, plus grassy lawns.
A very neat park. Spacious and clean. You can walk your dogs here, ride scooters and bikes, trek or go under to chill beside a stream of water surrounded with trees. The playground is big enough and the gym space is our favourite. The only upside is the small parking space. Can contain only about 8 cars or so.
I love everything about this park (except the water log around the goal post). There is an entrance from Corisande road, and another from Gibbins road although there are about 2 or 3 foot paths leading to the park from the roads. The grass is well mowed, the outdoor gym facilities give a feel of what you'd get in an actual indoor gym. I noticed that two of the gym facilities has ability to charge your phone by converting kinetic energy to electricity, so as you exercise, you get your phone charged. I didn't try it though, not sure it still works. As adults work out, children too have fun. They have their swing, etc to play on. The park is presented with a large field, big enough to serve as a football field. Trees are also planted in and around the park. Oh yes, I noticed a table tennis "table" so you can bring your tennis balls and bats. Lol. Is this park good for picnic? Yup! You are right. A good place for that too. Not sure if there are any modalities for the use of the park for this purpose though. I like the place, the kids enjoy going there too. Observe the weather, go have some fun!
I love Selly Oak Park because it's safe and big and has room for everyone, if you want to have your children play in the play ground or older children to play football or cricket or to go for walk or cycling, the only down side of it is doesn't have public toilet. *****
The playground has a good range of equipment for younger kids (including toddlers) and it is a generally well kept park. It has a lot of space too if you prefer to play ball games and seating to rest those tired legs.
nicw place with well mowed grass. except i found chair to be bit uncomfortable.
Best outdoor space in selly oak. Well maintained. Easy access to public transports. Ofcourse you can enjoy more in summer.
