Shakespeare Distillery is an artisan gin producer based in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire. Taking inspiration from the Tudor garden our award-winning British gins are hand-crafted in small batches. Our new distillery is open to the public for tours and our own Gin School where visitors are able to distill their very own gin on a mini copper still. All tours should be pre-booked from our website.
My mum and I booked for the gin tasting experience. Catherine, our host, was a delight! We had a wonderful brief talk on gin - how it's made and the history - had a G&T to sip throughout and tasted several of the distillery's spirits including their spiced rum! Catherine then gave us a run down on how to make the perfect G&T; lessons which I'll definitely practice at home! It was a wonderful afternoon treat and we spent some time in the shop afterwards trying the gins that weren't included in the tasting and stocked up on our favourites. Would definitely recommend this delicious experience!
We had the most amazing visit today. The staff had a good laugh watching us on cctv wandering around trying to find our way in We were greeted warmly, Kate, David and Jack went out of their way to make us feel welcome from the start. They were informative and we haven't stopped discussing how much we have learnt. The tasting was amazing, plenty to try and so many options. The staff are happy to answer any questions and have the best sense of humour. Thank you for having us!
We went to the gin school (and tour) on a Sunday afternoon and had a really very enjoyable experience. It was a quick but very unteresing insight into the history and process of the wider gin industry as well as the Shakespear distillery itself. Then in the gin school we had a very fun (and tipsy) time learning how different types or gin are made and creating our own recipe. The owner was on hand to give us tips to ensure a delicious gin would be the outcome and there was lots to taste too. We gave our gin the 2 week rest advised, and we are extremely pleased with how delicious it is. Highly recommended.
Such a fantastic tour and tasting! All staff were fantastic - so welcoming and knowledgeable! The tasting was fantastic - the tropical spiced rum is the best rum I've ever tasted. Definitely want to come back and make my own gin at the gin school! Thank you!
