A very interesting building, steeped in history, with large reception rooms. There are facilities for conference meetings, Weddings and a small children's play room. There was ample parking and helpful friendly staff, well worth a visit.
A lovely day in a lovely place. And they're offering sandwiches in the cafe now My dog loves the grounds (just tied her up outside while I bought takeaway from the cafe).
Nice to walk round which I did with my dog. I wanted a coffee to sit outside, cafe was open and there was a gift shop where I wanted to purchase something. The woman at the door would not let me in with the dog and didn't even offer to get it for me as you had to walk down a corridor. So they lost out on a couple of sales there. Absolutely ridiculous and not welcoming at all.
What an interesting place, audio self tour was really good. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.
Open Heritage Day gave us the opportunity to hear about Show House history and get a glimpse of some hidden jems (bakery, tunnel, cellar). My daughter loved the #dressedforshaw exhibition. Also we enjoyed tea and cake in the cafe. Thanks for a lovely day out!
When to an outdoor theatre performance. The ground are amazing clean and tidy. Plenty of parking. The house is wonderful to look around but only open certain days.
