A sea of hemp agrimony, wild carrot and red clover... A peaceful and beautiful place where you can sit on the bench and watch the geese fly by right in front of you.
Loads of paths round these beautiful downlands, with views across to Twyford. Good parking at the top and by the station at the bottom. Walks join up with the Itchen Navigation footpath between Winchester and Eastleigh. Good cafe at the railway station called Platform 1. Loads of windlife to see.
A lovely little spot close to shawford station, nice area for a picnic and walking, we took a lovely route that went through a wooded area and then down on the River Itchen Towpath. The walk to the cross at the top of the hill is worth it for the wonderful views out across Twyford and beyond
A beautiful place to walk and relax, with great views. Usually easy to park and there are other great walks in the immediate area. Just a shame you can hear the constant drone of the M3!
A short walk but nice in the sunshine. Not for anyone who struggles with hills.
Some one keeps Bees by the river. Great sight to see them flying free.
