My wife and I got married here and the venue is absolutely incredible! Stunning wild flowerscin summer, historic ruins included in the backdrop. Fire pit on an evening. Perfect for us!

We visited on reopening day for a Tudor queen's event. There's a renovated manor house & lots of ruin remains of other buildings. There's good parking & a visitors centre with a small cafe selling drinks and snacks. Special events happen on Sundays. Midweek is for school groups only except for school holidays when craft days can be booked. Our 6 year old loved meeting the Queens and dressing up.

This is a wonderful free place to visit, a fabulous resource right in the heart of an urban estate A huge green space full of history I really love it

I visited when it was free entry during February Half Term. What's left of the original Manor House is ruins, but the turret house, originally a hunting lodge within a huge deer park, remains intact. There is a rich history here - Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned here for fourteen years. Information boards tell her story. More could be done to bring her story alive - I intend to visit again when Tudor themed events are on.

Beautiful place to walk around in and it was also interesting to learn more about the history behind the lodge and how Mary, the queen of Scots was imprisoned here.
