This attraction showcases the unique culture and heritage of Shetland, a subarctic archipelago located off the northeastern coast of Scotland. The centre features interactive exhibits, displays, and live demonstrations that highlight the islands' history, folklore, and traditional skills such as knitting, fishing, and crofting. Visitors can explore a recreated 19th-century Shetland croft, learn about the region's Viking heritage, and discover the importance of the sea to the islanders' way of life.
A genuine, real experience with lovely local people who love what they do and enjoy sharing. A visit with them and their animals was a highlight of my vacation around the British Isles.
We absolutely loved our day spent on the Shetland Island. By far, one of the best excursions we enjoyed. Getting to experience 'a day in the life' with sheep, dogs and ponies was truly wonderful. The lunch at the inn was delicious and it allowed for one-on-one time getting to know David, his wife and our driver, Sam. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a real-life and bit more hands-on experience. Thank you!
We had an excellent experience and sight seeing. The demo with the dogs and sheep was amazing. Wonderfully trained dogs. We took off road track out the the lighthouse. Stunning views everywhere. Our hosts were very gracious and provided excellent service. Accommodated us on short notice. Highly recommend.
States on Google it's open 24 hrs, has a sign for tourist attractions but is so incredibly rude that I would suggest to stay as far away as possible.
An Amazing experience- David and his wife are lovely people, keen to share their little part of the world with us (and its a stunning part of the world!) The dogs are fantastic as are the little ponies ))))
