This 18th-century building in Hereford, England, features a stunning Georgian architecture with a symmetrical facade, adorned with a central clock tower and a grand entrance with a sweeping staircase. The hall's interior boasts an impressive timber-framed roof, ornate plasterwork, and a grand council chamber with a beautifully preserved Victorian-era decor.
Interesting building to visit, we enjoyed dressing up in the court room and exploring the cells. Free to enter but donations welcome.
Wow what a gem of a museum and a bonus that its free, I had no idea shire hall was the court room used to find John Frost guilty. Very good video on the trial, so interesting, plus you can also dress up. You can also see the holding cells. Lots to see very good for children well worth a visit.
Popped inside whilst visiting Monmouth with my children. Lovely friendly welcome from a member of staff and the children loved dressing up as a judge and exploring the cells.
Well worth a look if you're in town. Entry was free and the staff were very helpful. The stairs from the court room to the cells are a little steep but there is a lift available if needed.
We were planning on taking a holiday here, but they hate the union flag, so we will stay away from Wales from now on
