A tranquil and picturesque woodland area in Worcestershire, Shrawley Woods is a haven for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The woods are dominated by mature oak, beech, and birch trees, their canopies a vibrant green in spring and summer, and a kaleidoscope of autumn colors in the fall. The woodland floor is carpeted with bluebells, wild garlic, and ferns, and the air is filled with the sweet songs of birds and the gentle rustle of leaves. Meandering streams and winding footpaths invite exploration, while the surrounding hills offer panoramic views of the Worcestershire countryside.
It was my first visit to Shrawley Woods. There are plenty of well-marked paths to choose from, some of which take you down to the banks of the River Severn. My route took me from the New Inn to down Hampstall Inn where I enjoyed a pint of Westons Vintage before returning. Very pleasant.
Wood still at their best despite end of bluebells. Rarely if ever crowded due to total lack of parking. Thank you, Worcs CC for giving away the one car park available to all. Great planning.
Pleasant walk before lunch at the new inn across the road. PS3 parking charge at the pub or free on the road, if a space can be found.
The best access to the woods is from Shrawley village hall. There is plenty of parking there too.
just park in pub car park and put PS3 in the collection box
