A 150-acre park featuring over 150 modern and contemporary sculptures by local, national, and international artists, set amidst beautiful gardens, woodland, and a lake, with a visitor center, cafe, and shop.
Awesome place and a cheap day out. Amazing sculptures, most of which bear a deeper meaning, take time to read and understand the underlying messages. The shop is well stocked with goodies for around the home and garden at good prices too. They do not allow picnics, and thus offer exceptionally well priced and excellent quality food and drinks. We will definitely be going back.
Fabulous eye catching artwork on display, for all to view and admire the detail that brings the artwork alive in your eyes, through scrap metal and up-cycling. If you know your bike or car parts, you will spot them within the sculptures. Some fun facts, political and honest environmental quotes on view throughout the park. Great opportunity for schools and passers buy to learn more about our environment & planet. A bug show can be watched with facts & live creepy crawlies, giving an insight into their world. Wear comfortable walking shoes as the iron artworks are spread out over acres of land. Cars can be driven around (5 mph) to save your legs. There is a cafe on site. Your number plate is read as you enter the site. Park your car and make your way to the reception area to pay - adult PS10 each for a day pass, PS4 per car. You get given a card/ ticket to put on your dash board of your car as you leave. The camera that read your number plate & will see this ticket to know you've paid.
The park is truly impressive, featuring an array of incredible sculptures, all ingeniously crafted from scrap metal. It's a fascinating display of creativity and resourcefulness. Upon arrival, we found ample parking, which made the visit even more convenient. The young staff members who greeted us were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, ensuring we felt at ease as we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. Although we initially chose not to explore the garden center, we decided to do so later and were informed of the entry fee--PS10 per person, which seemed reasonable given the unique experience on offer. Additionally, there was a PS4 charge for parking, which we didn't mind. Unfortunately, our visit was somewhat marred by a disappointing interaction with the second set of reception staff. Their rudeness left a sour note on an otherwise enjoyable experience. It's a shame, as the park itself is a remarkable place, but the attitude of the later staff did detract from the overall visit.
Must visit attraction, Fabulous sculptures. Plenty of parking. Reasonable entrance fee. Suitable for all members of the family. Well mannered staff. Bring your own food as the cafe is very expensive especially if you bring family. Plenty of areas to picnic Highly recommended
One of the best places I've visited in a long time. It's thought provoking, and challenging, but is a fun environment too. The cafe was very good, the drinks were superb (we had hot chocolate, because it was pretty cold for a July day) and cake, which was delicious. Car parking was well managed, and because there was an event on, it was just the price of parking the car, not an entrance fee per person, so that was a bonus. The sculptures were absolutely amazing, the artists are very very talented, and the accompanying information boards were essential, to remind us all of our destructive presence on the planet and its consequences.
Didn't know what to expect from this attraction, but WOW! What a day out! And you do need a good few hours to try and see everything there is dotted around the grounds... and also the shop... and in the cafe... there are sculptures EVERYWHERE! Even the toilets... Entry price is more than reasonable, and various discounts can make it even cheaper. Food from the cafe is excellent and well priced. My only tiny gripe is the stuff available in the shop is kind of generic and can probably found in garden centres and other stores like that. All staff were friendly and pleasant... I can't recommend this highly enough, so go, and enjoy it!!
