Silver Mountain Experience is an immersive and interactive dark ride located in the Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire, UK. The ride takes guests on a thrilling journey through a mystical mining town, where they'll encounter eerie landscapes, mysterious characters, and supernatural phenomena. As riders wind their way through the abandoned mine, they'll experience sudden drops, sharp turns, and unexpected surprises, all while surrounded by state-of-the-art special effects and immersive theming.
We booked for the miner's and guided tour , and it was worth every penny. The young lady who showed us around was very knowledgeable about the mine ,as well as the area, She was also very cheerful and friendly as was the young lady in reception/ gift shop. Unfortunately, the weather was awful, so we couldn't take advantage of most of the outside exhibits, but we will definitely go back . It's a great way to spend a few hours while learning about the horrific working lives and deaths of the people that worked these places
Lovely little place, which is well looked after. You can tell the staff cate about the mine and they ate very enthusiastic about tell you about it. You get a guided tour as part of the entry fee, but you can go on more once inside, and this is half price. There is a reasonably price cafe and toilets on site. There is plenty to do after your tour around the grounds with some fun games. I wanted to spend more time in the mine and take some photos of us down there. You only get to go in the mine during the tour.
We did the Black Chasm experience and LOVED IT! The 'witch' that led us around the different mines and areas was fantastic and interactive - improvising her performance along the way brilliantly with her jump scares, stories and enthusiasm along the way. The site itself is well maintained, full of activities and an interesting place. We also panned for gold and gems to get more of a mining experience.
Visited yesterday Saturday 27 July 24 with my 5 year old Daughter and my Brother. Had a brilliant time, my Daughter Darcy she loved it. She has minor learning difficulties and is extremely shy so when we did the live actor Dragons Quest Darcy was a bit reluctant but our guide Ivy she was fantastic, very good with kids and Darcy had a great little adventure she loved it. She also loved just wandering around everywhere before and after the Dragon Quest, lots to see and do. Well worth a visit would definitely recommend, thankyou
My first mine experience. We spent 1 hr seeing the museum, solving puzzle and exploring area. Other than museum rest are not much interesting for me. But kids loved. But i thoroughly enjoyed miner's life. Worth it.
Nice little trip out for the morning. Did gem panning. Diverting water. Then a tour to try and find some dragons. Perfect for little ones. Takes an hour to do the tour. Crystal the snow elf was very in character. Small play park onsite too.
