Snape Maltings sits on the bank of the River Alde, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just six miles from Aldeburgh. The beautiful heritage site, with its converted Victorian buildings, is home to independent shops, galleries, outdoor sculpture, a restaurant and a dog-friendly cafe, and several performance venues - including the world-famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall. There are beautiful walks including the Suffolk Coastal Path. If you are looking for things to do in Suffolk, this family-friendly venue is a Suffolk gem. There is free parking, overnight accommodation and accessible toilets. Every purchase made at Snape Maltings supports the charitable work of the pioneering music and arts charity, Britten Pears Arts.
Went shopping. Wide array of beautiful stuff at appropriate prices. I enjoyed browsing but didn't buy much. An enjoyable day out while we were on holiday in the area.
This is such a beautiful place. A must for everyone if you visiting the Suffolk coast. Wonderful walks, outstanding countryside and the Snape Maltings shops are fabulous especially their home shop and deli. Perfect eat place for the whole family to visit.
Only partially dog friendly if you can carry your dog (which, thankfully, we could). Not every shop allows this though but the main part does. Cafe is rather expensive for what it is, however shops seemed to have fair prices. Nice surrounding area to walk but, as mentioned, if you've got a non-carryable dog then it's probably not worth it.
Love this place. Great collection of unique shops selling all sorts of lovely stuff. Good range of eateries although weirdly nowhere seemed to serve breakfast when we asked. Amazing concert hall, beautiful river with walks and boat trips.
The deli and shops are interesting, and the staff are friendly including at the pub. Didn't look around the galleries. This place is worth a visit as it's quite different. Largely dog friendly.
Lovely to walk around. Some shops were ridiculously overpriced. A few art galleries, parking was fine, but we did go on a Wednesday. Dog friendly
